Travel by Diesel Locomotive through the beautiful mountains of western Maryland.  Enjoy a relaxing train ride between Cumberland and Frostburg as you drink in the beauty of the colorful fall leaves against the backdrop of the mountains. Travel over creeks, streams and bridges and pass through a mountain tunnel nearly 1,000 feet long! Relax, grab some lunch and explore a bit during the 90 minute layover in Frostburg before heading back down the mountain to Cumberland.  There are a limited number of covered open air cars available on a first come first served basis. These allow you to fully take in the sounds and smells of mountain railroading. Once these are reserved remaining passengers will be seated in coach class which simply means a fully enclosed passenger car with large windows. You will still have all of the beautiful views. Finally relax and enjoy a hearty dinner on your own at Hoss's Steak and Seafood restaurant before heading home with some amazing memories of a very special fall excursion.
